About Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training helps adults assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. It takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health or substance use by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address potential issues.
Join us for Freedom Mic, an open mic event hosted by the Diversity Committee of the United Students Association (USA), dedicated to honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while reflecting on the significance of this year’s presidential inauguration.
This event offers a space for students to express their thoughts, hopes, and visions for justice, unity, and equality through poetry, spoken word, music, and stories. As we navigate a pivotal moment in history, Freedom Mic seeks to amplify diverse voices and create a respectful dialogue that connects MLK’s dream to the challenges and opportunities of today.
All are welcome to perform or simply listen and support. Let’s come together to celebrate resilience, reflection, and the power of our voices.
This will be the first day of our recruitment for Phi Sigma Sigma, a social event where we talk and get to know other women on campus and do crafts and play fun games!
